Green Efficiency Certificates
How green are you?
Every home in WA will soon require an energy efficiency rating certificate when sold or leased as part of a plan to improve the energy efficiency of hundreds of thousands of Australia’s older homes. Every new house built must have an energy efficiency rating of six stars.
Under an agreement between the federal government, states and territories, the certificates are due to be mandatory by May 2012 for every house sold or leased. To assist you in the mandatory disclosure of housing energy efficiency we can undertake an energy efficiency inspection that considers such things as whether a house or unit has carpet, insulation, the number of windows and whether they have curtains and blinds and the orientation of the house. Accordingly the property will be rated out of six stars.
